Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"This restaurant by far surpassed any expectation I had of Homer Restaurants! The Waiter was really cool and nice, and the food was out of this world! All the flavors popped in your mouth and felt like a home cooked comfort meal by the ocean. I had the Tour of Alaska, which was a lemon risotto with an assortment of seafood on top, my husband got the Halibut fish and chips which was a very generous portion, my daughter had the Nashville hot chicken mac, which was packed with a savory bacon favor. BEST restaurant on The Spit!!!"
"Fun spot on the spit with amazing views of the doc. We went twice and did not have to wait for a table the first time, but did the second (20 min wait) which was around dinner time. Both of our servers were amazing and very attentive. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meals. They also have a good variety of gluten free items labeled on their menu."
"Came here for dinner on a friday around 5pm after going out on a tour all day. I got the Tour of Alaska, which was very good. All the different fish were cooked well and the risotto was nice and creamy. My husband got the halibut fish and chips, which I tasted and that was good as well. They charged us for extra tartar sauce which seems like nickel and diming. It got very busy before we were done our meal, so service slowed down a bit. We ended up getting the peach cheesecake with hot honey for dessert - I would really recommend this dish! Overall, it's a nice place to eat."
"Nice little dining spot on The Spit with a great view of the docks to watch the boats. Wide variety of food for everyone including vegetarian and gluten free options. Everything was pretty tasty with good-sized portions. The brussel sprouts were roasted well with a nice crunch and bacon flavor. The mac and cheese had a super cheesy flavor with a nice little kick from the hot sauce and a nice crunch from the fried chicken. Our server was super sweet and attentive. Definitely recommend this place if you are in Homer!"
"It’s rare that I give 5 stars. This is a solid 4.7. Fish and chips (halibut) is excellently seasoned and moist. Definitely use the tartar sauce. Adds that much more flavor. Their rotating draft pick makes for a fun beer selection. Market prices for king crab are reasonable considering the location. The French fries leave a little to be desired. Needs more salt or seasoning. Tastes too much like the fried oil. Homemade lemonade with mango or strawberry was a great choice to rehydrate. Not overly sweet. Atmosphere was more modern with the upbeat music on the patio. Servers are very quick and not pushy. They definitely know how to cater to parents with kids offering up suggestions. If it’s sunny use the patio. Good views and relaxing area."
"The view, atmosphere, and service is great. It is more on the pricey side but the food was worth it in my opinion. Highly recommend the oysters! Fish and chips and seafood chowder are good options as well. You can skip the calamari and crab cakes. The bathrooms are very clean and smell good."
"Such a delightful experience. Our waiter, Jordan, was exceptional both in service and in his recommendations for things we should see. The food was delicious. We had halibut ceviche and fish and chips. We also had the chowder, and we’ve never had better."
"Love the key lime pie martini. Tour of Alaska is the best way to try it all and it’s delicious. Everything is fresh. Pistachio crusted halibut is bomb.com , and halibut cheeks and mango ceviche were greats apps! Chefs kiss. And the fish and chips were light crispy big and cooked perfect and it was fresh! Love this place. Views are great outside."
